Cap de Formentor is the eastern end of the Formentor peninsula in Mallorca. This is a part of the Balearic Island of Mallorca in Spain. The closest airport to this beautiful holiday destination is Palma Mallorca airport. From there, you can choose to rent a car, hire a bus or a taxi to reach your favorite hotel in Cap de Formentor or the adjoining Puerto de Alcudia or Puerto de Pollença.

What to do during your holidays in Cape Formentor

one) Lighthouse of Formentor– This was inaugurated back in 1863, granting recognition to this place. The trip to Faro de Formentor was a refreshing experience. There are great views along the way and you can even choose to use a bike to get to the spot. However, when you reach your goal, there is a nice cafe to relax; prices can be a bit exorbitant. So you can choose to bring your own picnic basket and enjoy the view. The view at sunset is simply stunning. There are many hairpin turns and many of you may find the road a bit stressful, however after you get there you will find it worth the pain.

two) Viewpoint Es Colomer Formentor– If you are a bit adventurous, take a bike and go up to the viewpoint in the Sierra de Tramuntana, near Puerto Pollensa. This point will allow you to see Mallorca in all its wild and rugged beauty. The Mirador d’es Colomer rises to more than 300 meters above sea level and surely the beauty of this place will captivate you. You can also use a car to go up, however you will have to be a bit careful as there are hairpin turns and bicyclists on the way.

3) Diving Majorca– This place is located about 12.8 km from Cap de Formentor in Port de Pollenca, Mallorca Spain. So if you are a water baby, don’t miss this opportunity. You can book a diving session online with Scuba Mallorca. Most tourists are impressed with the friendly and professional staff, the well-maintained equipment, and the clean and tidy dive center. After the dive, enjoy the relaxing hot shower and head to the next destination.

4) Sa Creueta Viewpoint– This place is located 12.7 km from Cap de Formentor on the Formentor peninsula, which is 5 km from Port de Pollenca, Mallorca Spain. You can choose to go to this windy and rugged coast. Most of the visitors prefer to go to this place during sunrise or sunset time.

This sleepy little town doesn’t have much to offer, however if you’re planning on relaxing in a less crowded destination then this could be the place. Adjacent is the Port d’Alcudia, which is 14.3 KM from Cap de Formentor. You can choose to visit the old town of Alcudia, enjoy the Challenge Mallorca boat ride, no-frills excursions and many other things there. In Port de Pollenca, which is again only 12.7 KM from Cap de Formentor, you can choose to enjoy Tudor sunrise sailing charters, walks through the Boquer Valley (Val de Boquer), private sailing experiences in Rozamar, walks through pine trees and some other things. So, what are you waiting for? Access your computer and book your tickets for your summer holidays.
