A night to remember: Shah Rukh Khan and his friends live on stage with his Temptation Reloaded Show in Rotterdam/NL – June 21, 2008

It was the end of the afternoon and the big venue in front of the Ahoy Arena in Rotterdam/NL was almost empty, but this would not last long, because a legend was going to take place even though no advertisement or billboard announced Temptation Reloaded 2008 yet. . It took 4 years to remake a new Temptation show starring Shah Rukh Khan and his friends, but it was worth sticking with.

The place slowly filled as time passed and everyone waited until it was 6:30pm and the entrances to the great hall opened. People lined up in 6 long lines patiently standing there and chatting about the star cast of the night. They were speculating on the numbers of items to be performed by Arjun Rampal, Anusha Dandekar, Ganesh Hedge, Katrina Kaif, the beautiful Kareena Kapoor, and the King himself, Shah Rukh Khan. And they waited for the doors to open… and they waited… and they waited… and they waited.

Finally, at 8:15 p.m. the entrance opened and people were slowly allowed in after checking their bags for cameras. VVIP ticket holders had to check their tickets inside the room again. It seemed that the preparations for the show were not finished, as upon entering you could see that the dancers in jumpers were still on stage rehearsing.

At approximately 21:00, the show started with the cute Anusha Dandekar performing for Aaj Ki Raat. She is a very good dancer and also a good host who announced the stars and interviewed them after their performances. Arjun and Kareena rocked the house with their performances and also Katrina and Javed did a very good job of entertaining people.

The hall erupted with excitement and shouting as the King made his entrance with Dard-e-Disco. It was the performance that was first shown at a recent award show that he featured looking absolutely stunning in his ripped black shirt. After that, he came back reciting a poem, but it was almost impossible to hear him through all this screaming and yelling.

Ganesh Hedge, the show’s choreographer and also a singer and actor had the hardest part of the show: performing after SRK. He did a song with Anusha and it was great to see him and his boyish charm. He was the best dancer tonight and he performed with such ease that it was a delight to watch. Anusha told the audience that he had finished his first movie as an actor and it will be released this year.

The follow-up was the most anticipated part: The King in interaction with some fans. First he called a young man and a lady on stage to teach them how to have an affair with Main Agar Kahoon (you may have seen him in the show he did for the cricketers) and then he called a man to dance with Main Hoon Don (again from the cricketeers show) and we all had a blast watching him as SRK who had a blast playing with the audience and handing out autographs and gifts. He later called Arjun back on stage and the two climbed onto a moving podium to be led down the aisle and throw balls and teddy bears into the audience. Again the hall erupted in whoops and screams as these handsome boys pushed their way closer to those far from the stage.

You could say that the show now belonged to SRK as he later played Mast Kalander with Anusha and then Pretty Woman with Katrina followed by Mitwa with Kareena. Anusha wanted to persuade the audience that it was time for the Grand Final which, of course, everyone tried to listen to, but unfortunately, there was no chance. All the stars took to the stage to perform Deewangi Deewangi and this wonderful evening had to end.

Many people went to the back entrance of the hall to catch a glimpse of the leaving stars and, as one might imagine, was frantic when SRK left the building. People were yelling and pushing and security was busy keeping them at bay. Mr. Khan seemed to enjoy it and, just like in Paris at the unveiling of his wax figure at the Grevin Museum, he jumped in the car to blow flying kisses to his fans and give them a chance to see him properly. Then he left in the car that had to move very slowly, because many people were blocking the exit. Also the other stars left one by one to be kicked out separately but none of them greeted the fans like Shah Rukh Khan has.

The Show in Rotterdam has truly been a night to remember and all the fans around the world wish and cross their fingers that this is not the only one and hopefully it will be repeated in many more cities around the world.
