~Introduction~

It seems these days there are endless ways to make money online. There are review sites like Ciao and Dooyoo that pay their members to write about certain products they have used or own. Of course, there are paid survey sites like Globaltestmarket and Mytns that distribute a variety of surveys for members to participate in. Then there are sites like Rpoints and ironically ipoints, which reward members for signing up to various sites and schemes through their web pages. They’re all good for a little extra income, but they won’t make you rich overnight. I will try to make my review as clear as possible and weigh the positives and negatives of joining Rpoints.

It is very simple and straightforward to join Rpoints. You have to register some basic details like your name, date of birth and address. They then ask you for an email address and to set up a username and password. Once everything is done and dusted off, you can start earning your Rpoints.

~The site~

The website recently underwent a small facelift and the color scheme is very refreshing and quite original. It’s easy to navigate, with all sections and areas clearly labeled and headed. Pages load extremely fast, and once they do, you’re surprised with stunning clarity that greets you. There are no parts you can’t understand and everything is very simple.

I really like the way you have organized the content of the site, making it easy to use for all users. It’s a site that I myself and I’m sure everyone will be comfortable using. If you encounter any difficulties, you can easily resolve them by contacting a moderator or posting on the forum.

~Earn points~

The beauty of Rpoints is that there are so many ways you can earn points. I’ll break each one down into clear sections that make them easy to understand in the next section. There are three main ways that I will discuss in the next three sections of the review.

~Easy Points~

There are points you can earn without spending a single penny, so they are effectively free money. These come in two different forms. There are sites that offer you a fixed amount per click, when you select a link from their site to one of the partners. An example of this would be kelkoo. He clicks on kelkoo through Rpoints and then searches for a product. There will be a list of partner sites that stock the article and you will get a set number of points for doing so. Below is a breakdown of these sites.

-eBay: Earn 3 points every time you visit and place an offer (at least the reserve price) or use a Buy It Now link

-Kelkoo: Earn these points by clicking on a link: Car rental 15 pts; Travel / Flights 10pts; Electricity/Informatics 5 points; Other categories / single visit 2pts

-The High Street Web: Earn 5 points for every click

-Dealtime: Earn 8 pts for Electricity, IT and Home Appliances; 4 points for other categories

-Price Guide UK: Earn 4 points when you click through to a retailer’s site

Carsource: Earn 2 points per search session

(There are restrictions on how many times you can earn points through these sites each day, so check the details.)

If you only take 15-20 minutes during the day to make a few clicks on these sites, then you can earn a good amount of money. It’s very easy, although maximizing your point earnings requires a bit of practice and trial and error. It’s often advisable to go through the Rpoints link for every search you do, just to make sure you get the points. I am very comfortable and very happy with the amount of points I have accumulated from doing this and it is relatively simple and not time consuming.

The other way you can earn free points is by signing up for certain websites and offers through Rpoints. There are points for signing up for everything from Ciao and eBay to dating sites and free contests. It clarifies how many points you will receive for each next to the links. With eBay, you get 300 points just for signing up and then you get paid an extra 3 points every time you place a bid on an item that’s higher than the reserve price.

~Refunds~

If you are a regular online shopper, then there is a great opportunity for you to earn money from your purchases. If the product you wish to purchase is available on a Rpoints.com partner site, then if you choose to purchase it from them, you will receive a certain amount of cash back. You can select the store for the directory and then make sure you click on the site via the Rpoints link, otherwise you won’t get your points.

It will become clear how much money you will receive back if you make a purchase on a particular site. It will say something like: ‘Get x% off all purchases.’ There are some sites that offer up to 10% cash back and others that only offer one or two percent. It all adds up over time and if you spend £100 then you can get £3-£4 back. I use the dominoes link to buy pizza and they offer a 1.75% discount but I’ve managed to make around £1 in discounts during the last months. You can earn 3% on all purchases at amazon.co.uk, which is really nice. Even if you use gift vouchers, you still get the cash back.

I believe that you can earn a lot of money if you shop online regularly. There’s so much money going, if you buy this way and it’s yours for the taking. If you buy things over the internet, they’re often cheaper anyway, so you’ll get double the savings if you buy through Rpoints.com. There are numerous stores available and new ones are added all the time.

~Sign-up Bonuses~

This isn’t something I’ve taken advantage of since using Rpoints, but I can give you some basic details on what’s involved. There are numerous poker, betting and other gambling sites that you can join and get paid a certain amount of Rpoints for placing your first bet or making a deposit of a certain amount. These initial deposits are usually around $50 or sterling equivalent. The company usually matches the deposit or bet, so you get double the money to bet. If you’re crafty enough, you can get yourself a £10 free bet and a huge amount of free Rpoints. In fact, you may end up winning money on top of having the opportunity to get a big payout when you place a bet or play poker.

~Points and Redemption~

The points system at Rpoints is very simple, unlike other earning sites you may come across. It is made so simple, because each point is worth 1p. This way, it will be clear to you how much you have earned and how much you should expect to have when you withdraw the money. Some other sites have quite confusing point structures and no clear value on the value of each individual point. I think this scale makes it much easier to interpret your earnings and plan how to spend them. It also allows you to weigh whether or not a particular offer is worth accepting, because you get a clear figure in your mind of how much money you’ll actually save or earn.

The minimum withdrawal value is just 500 points which is £5. This is the same as Ciao and I think it is a very reasonable amount. There are other sites that force you to earn up to £25 before allowing you to cash out and get a reward. You can choose between four different redemption methods, which I think will suit the vast majority of people. If you want to convert points into Amazon coupons, you can do so at 500 points at a time. I find out that I have the coupon code in my inbox within 24 hours, which is very impressive. Paypal is another option, one I haven’t used, but I’m sure the procedure is pretty straightforward. Eggpay and Moneybookers are the other two methods, but they require 1,500 and 3,000 points respectively. I haven’t had any experience with these either, but I don’t see it being a problem getting your money back.

It takes about a month for the points you earn on the site to arrive. Account statements are updated weekly, usually Monday afternoon, and the status of your new account is calculated. Points you’ve earned in the last week will show up as ‘pending’ on your list and there will be a date indicating when they should be available for you to redeem. When points are added to your balance, they will appear as “awarded” on your statement and will be highlighted in gray.

~Forum~

The Rpoints bulletin board is always very lively and active. It is extremely useful for any user as it is packed with important information and tips to get the most out of the website. It is also the place to ask questions to the moderators and other members of the site, if you have a problem or query about missing items, unclear offers, or any other difficulties you may encounter while using the website. There is also an announcements section which is always worth keeping an eye out for, so you are aware of any changes to Rpoints.

The forum is also the place to post any offers you’ve seen on the Internet that you want to bring to the attention of other members. There are numerous categories that include gifts and mobile phones to name two. There can be some real bargains here and if you’re looking for something in particular, you may find something to suit your needs. Posts are often accompanied by a link to an online store or a store that stocks the particular item. If you buy through that store, you will get a refund.

There are also fun areas where you can talk about everyday events and laugh and joke. The fun and games section is great fun, the story time thread is particularly good. There are helpful tips on financial and technology topics, and you can generally ask a question on these topics and get a really good answer from someone. There is a lot of associated gambling material here and you can get a lot of great tips on how to master online poker.

There’s a ton of information to look at here and just about any question I’ve had answered by someone who knows what they’re talking about. I think it’s really helpful to have access and it has helped me increase my point balance immensely. I don’t really have any real criticism of the forums and how they work, just praise.

~Customer Service~

The Rpoints team does its best to answer your questions and inquiries as quickly as possible. If you post a problem you’re having, they’ll often give you some sort of response within a few hours. If none of the moderators are around, the older members of the site will often give you a pretty solid answer. I think that in this sense, the Rpoints are second to none. They will always give you a quick answer, even if it is not the one you are looking for.

~Conclusion~

In my opinion, this has to be one of the most lucrative and efficient ways to earn a little extra money online. If you know what you’re doing and know how to maximize your profits, you’ll get a tidy little sum. As I keep mentioning, there are so many ways you can earn points that you continue to do so with relative ease. New ways to earn and new stores offering discounts are always being added, so if you find yourself exhausting the immense possibilities of the sites, then your next source of income may be just around the corner.

I cannot recommend this site highly enough. I’ve only earned a total of £20 in the few months I’ve been a member, but it’s all been free points. The only times I have actually paid money is when I order pizza from Dominoes through my account. I believe that anyone who is dedicated enough and does any amount of shopping online will soon reap the benefits of being a Rpoints member. This site, like anything in the world, will take a bit of getting used to, but once you’re rocking and rolling, there should be no stopping you in your charge to earn as many Rpoints as possible.
