Radar and laser detectors: pros and cons

Now, in today’s world, it seems like everyone is looking for their money. One of the most frustrating and expensive things to pay for is a speeding ticket. Not only does it cost a lot of money ($ 115 on average) but it also has a record that future employers can see. This is a fact despite the fact that the points on your license disappear after three years, insurance companies increase prices, and employers can find out how many fines you have obtained. This can be more expensive than you think.

I was given a speeding ticket, in fact, two of them before using a radar / laser detector. It is the most annoying, especially if you have a place to go. I was just as nervous as I hope everything was up to date. After I went through everything and tried to argue for the ticket, they handed me a ticket. They did not put the price of the ticket. You have to call and then mail it to the police office. The frustration doesn’t end once you walk away.

Pro’s

After the two speeding tickets I received, I started using a laser / radar detector. The first time I used it, I borrowed one from a friend. It was a very advanced laser / radar detector that cost about $ 300. As you may have guessed, I did not get tickets for my trip. I saw at least 10 police cars on my 3 hour drive and each and every time the laser / radar detector would go off like a buzzer to alert me. It was very simple, he could be half asleep and still avoid a fine.

Cons

There were times when he gave me false alarms. Most of these false alarms occurred while driving in the city, probably triggered by hidden police cars or major radio units in buildings. Using a laser / radar detector will not slow down your car or hide it, so if you think it is a false alarm and you don’t slow down, you will be caught.

Summary

Taking everything into consideration, it is worth the money to buy a laser / radar detector. Personally, it would be better to be safe than sorry. In fact, I would have more than 2 tickets if I didn’t start using one when I did. I can be happy to say that I have not been detained in years.
