Procrastination – Gangnam Style?

admin 0

Even when we intend to finish something and have the best of intentions, things don’t always go as planned. Many of us turn to web browsing or other forms of entertainment, even when we have work to do. Videos, like the currently popular Gangnam Style, on YouTube are one of the main reasons many people procrastinate. Overcoming this and focusing on what’s important is possible, you just need to know how to start.

In the age we live in now, procrastination is easier than ever. One of the popular ways to do this is to surf the web and watch videos for hours on end. Gangnam Style is one of those new music videos that has garnered a huge amount of attention and is still the go-to place when someone wants to relax and get away from stressful work. While this is good when you take a break, it’s far from good when it prevents you from doing the work you should be doing. Social media and entertainment can bring you some fun here and there, but it can also end up causing damage.

While these things can be tempting, it’s important to remember where procrastination leads. For those people who are supposed to be working, this means you’re choosing those hours of fun over your paycheck. This can jeopardize your employment, something that nobody wants. As for students, procrastination leads to lower grades and a lot more stress when deadlines start to loom.

To avoid such things, you need to learn how to better manage your time and do the work you should be doing. Set schedules and try to stay on track. Make sure you have everything planned out well so you don’t skip work to watch your music videos and procrastinate. With little to no holes in your plans, you can actually start doing your regular school and/or work the way it should be.

Once you start to get the ball rolling and focus a little more on what’s important, you can see phenomenal results. You’ll receive work on time, what you submit will be of higher quality because it’s less of a last-minute rush, and you’ll be open to more opportunities at work or school. While you may not be able to sing “Oppan Gangnam Style” or dance as often, you will be able to do better with your work.

No matter what activity is trying to push you to procrastinate, you can overcome it. It’s about finding a schedule and system that works in your life and gives you the structure you need to do what you need to do. If you are worried that this means that you will no longer be able to have fun or experience the same joy, you should remember that it is far from it. Learning to stop procrastinating so much just means you can focus more on work and put those activities aside for when you have breaks or are free. Doing so allows for further growth and success in your work life, all without losing the fun.
