Making clients feel comfortable in a salon

A mark of an elegant and quality hairdresser is the comfort of its customers. When a customer walks in for the first time, the ambience and cleanliness are the first things that are noticed. The happiness and comfort of those waiting to get their hair cut, colored or styled is a good indicator of what the new client will experience very soon. Once the guest arrives in the salon’s internal work areas, client comfort is equally important as stylists do whatever it takes to keep them looking their best.

While the least amount of waiting time possible is ideal, here are a few ways a quality salon can keep their clients waiting in comfort and style. When each client enters the salon, they should receive a warm welcome. Its purpose and waiting time must be established. Then the front desk manager should offer them something to drink. Magazines should also be available during your wait. As soon as someone is available, your appointment should start.

shampoo
Once the stylist or assistant is ready and calls them back for their appointment, the client will likely need a shampoo. A protective cover must be placed over the client and restrained before seating at the sink and shampoo station. When the shampooing and conditioning process is complete, a quality company will use quality terry salon towels to absorb excess water. The top of the client’s head will be wrapped in a thick towel before the stylist helps them migrate to the appropriate work station. Cotton towels should be soft so that the client feels comfortable and warm.

Cut, color and style
For those with long or thick hair, a cool, dry salon towel will be draped over the shoulders to soak up any stray drips or runs while the stylist and client decide together what will be done on that visit. Other snacks should be offered and music should be played in the background to make customers feel comfortable. Once the client beauty care process has been done, you may need to wait while the chemicals set. This should happen in another section of the room, where something to read is offered and comfort and relaxation are emphasized. When the stylist is almost done with the client, a mirror should be presented and the client should be able to see all angles of the cut and style. When the client is satisfied, he can go to the reception to check-out and make a new appointment and feel welcome to return as soon as possible.
