How to make Christmas stocking ornaments

admin 0

This project is fun, easy, and simple, which is exactly what we need in this crazy, hectic life we lead! All you need for these pretty decorations are the items you have on hand. Scraps of felt, fabric, and leftover trim from other projects are perfect for these Christmas stocking decorations.

Materials:
stock template
Scraps of felt and fabric
Bits and pieces of ribbon, trim, lace and gimp
Beads, costume jewelry, sequins, vintage bracelets, buttons, and any decorations you’d like to see on your tree.
3d glitter paint
glue gun
needle and thread
Scissors

Basic method:
Draw your sock on a sheet of paper. Any shape you like in two sizes, 2×4 inches and 3×6 inches. However, these measurements do not have to be exact. Your design can be anything you want, the tip can be rounded or pointed like pixie stockings, and of course you can make as many templates as you like and then store them in an envelope for future use. Place the template on the fabric and cut two. Sew around the middle leaving the top open. You can hand sew, blanket sew, machine sew, or when you’re in a rush, you can hot glue the two sections together along the inside edges. When using the hot glue gun, be careful not to burn your fingers. Now you can start embellishing your sock. Start by making a bow with a short piece of ribbon and sew or glue the bow to the top corner of the stocking, with the raw edge on the inside. We want everything to look professional because you might as well give them away. Add velvet ribbons or pretty embellishments along the top of the stocking. You can sew on beads or attach old (not too heavy) brooches. Create your own designs. Try using 3D glues and glitter paints. Paint little stars, circles, or dots all over your socks. 3D paint or glue takes about 24 hours to dry. These cute little tights can be made in sets of 2 or 4 or more. I also did a complete set for the fireplace mantle in mix and match color themes.

They look adorable and I wear them year after year.

Merry Christmas
