How to fix the rabbit corkscrew yourself

Those who have a rabbit corkscrew in their homes will see that over time, it starts to act strange and instead of turning the cork upwards it will do the opposite. This basically means that the cork will no longer come out, but will instead be pushed or broken inside the bottle. If you have noticed this situation, then you must know how to fix the rabbit corkscrew, and the following steps will help you with this.

Step 1: You have to see how the rabbit corkscrew works when it is placed on top of the wine bottle. Its two side pins will be fastened to the sides of the bottle, and then they will have to be in the correct position, under the handles, so that the screw is not allowed to turn in the wrong direction.

Step 2: Once you have identified the two pins, you should focus on the movement of the corkscrew handles. When you push them, they should securely place the pins on either side of the bottle. If not, then the inner bushing that helps them do that could be damaged. This cap is a small plastic circle that is placed inside.

Step 3: The cap of the rabbit corkscrew should be covered, depending on the model, under the pins. You have to remove the covers and then assess the condition of the bushings. In most cases, they travel outside of their surrounding area, making it difficult for the screw to pull out the cork.

Step 4: If this is the case, and the bushings are set on top, then all you need to do is push them back to their original position and the rabbit corkscrew should be fixed. To do this, use whatever type of tool is useful, that can fit into the housing, and can be used to push the bushings back. Once you get this done, even with a normal kitchen knife, the corkscrew is ready for normal use again.
