The Clemson Tigers were at home against the Florida Atlantic Owls this week and the Tigers were licking their chops. Talk about a smooth game. This game featured a steady diet of scoring from the Clemson Tigers. In the first quarter, they got a field goal early enough to take a 3-0 lead. As time ticked down in the first quarter, they added their first TD of the day. At the end of the first, Clemson was 10-0.

The second quarter was more of the same. At the halfway point, Reggie Merriweather ran in a TD from one yard out. Once again, as time was running out, Wil Proctor hit a 14-yard touchdown pass to Aaron Kelly. The Tigers had a commanding 24-0 lead at the half. The Owls opened the second half with a pair of field goals to make the game interesting, for a moment. However, the Clemson Tigers responded with two more touchdowns and a commanding 38-6 lead entering the 4th quarter.

The Owls finished scoring, but not the Tigers. They added 16 more points to their already overwhelming score. The Clemson Tigers crushed the Florida Atlantic Owls 54-6. The Tigers did it with 372 yards of total offense. His attack was very balanced. They had 173 receiving yards and 199 rushing yards. They made the most of their gardens. The Owls, on the other hand, could only manage two field goals for their 263 yards of total offense.

The Tigers’ defense kept the Owls at bay all day. Owls quarterback Sean Clayton completed half of his passes, 11 of 22, for 112 yards and an interception. Charles Pierce gained the most rushing yards for the Owls. He had 8 carries for 31 yards. His longest run was just 7 yards. He finished with an average of 3.9 yards per carry.

Clemson QB Will Proctor was 13 of 20 for 166 yards, 3 touchdowns and an interception. He threw touchdowns to three different receivers: Chansi Stuckey, Rendrick Taylor and Aaron Kelly. It’s also worth noting that Jacoby Ford ran a 92-yard punt for a touchdown. The Clemson Tigers dominated so much that they didn’t punt once. Next week, the Clemson Tigers travel to take on Boston College, which should be a bit more challenging. However, they could be stuck looking to the future, as they have to travel to Seminole land to take on Florida State the following week.
