A new era: modern wheel and tire concepts

As we move into the future, there are more ideas and concepts coming to the drawing board to improve the way we live. We are seeing interesting car designs and with them remarkable modern wheel and tire concepts.

  • Modern tire concepts

Have you noticed that modern versions of tires have more geometric patterns with a stronger and bolder appearance? We are lucky that our generation is moving towards a more practical state of living and considering all aspects of comfort and design before manufacturing.

We’re also seeing more unusual colors come onto the scene. Because? Designers find different materials for reinforcing components. They then use paint or resin that gives the tire color and a more eye-catching design structure.

Designers and engineers are also starting to find ways to get more air into the tires. This may sound crazy considering how racers try to get their tires as warm as possible. Certain tires have not been designed to be in contact with such heat. Therefore, by adding these new features, we could prevent our tires from being replaced so frequently.

We’re also seeing wheels getting wider, whether you have a performance car or not. The first cars made had small, skinny wheels that would wobble if the driver went too fast on the brick road. These wider wheels give the car more stability on the road, especially when cornering.

Modern wheels look like ninja stars and mini blades. The wheels are less bulky using less alloy material. There are more spaces between the decorative spokes which add to the lightness of it.

We are also starting to see more colors painted on the surface. Some colors are matte, which is different from standard glossy paint. Other colors are metallics that create the appearance of a shimmer of sunlight bouncing off the wheels.

Angles are popular in modern wheel designs. Certain angles can influence the drivability of the car. If the angle does not face the front of the car, then the wheel was designed to improve its aerodynamics.

We can also see that where the spoke starts in the center of the wheel, the metal sticks out slightly, making it difficult to remove the marked disc in the middle. These are valuable in street markets, so thieves tend to steal and resell them. So the metal bulge discourages that kind of theft.

It’s a good thing that wheel and tire designs evolve over time. People always want to have a fresh new look that could enhance our driving.
