Why is my computer slow when I browse the Internet?

admin 0

This is a great question, especially since the Internet is such a big part of our daily lives.

There are so many things on the Internet that we need, such as email, videos, search engines, personal financial transactions, and other interesting things. And because we have so many things connected to the Internet, there are so many files and traffic that this can become a pain if your computer is running slowly. The three big issues that can slow down your computer’s performance are: RAM and CPU memory, browser cache, and hardware issues.

I. RAM MEMORY AND CPU MEMORY

When there is little or no RAM or CPU memory left, then your computer can’t do anything, “your hands are tied”, you’ve reached the limit!… that’s why it’s important to remove the programs on your computer system that do. It is not required. Such programs exist within the autostart function of our computers. These programs steal your computer system resources. There are some legitimate background programs, such as antivirus and firewall, that you need on a daily basis. However, it is important to be aware of the items that are not.

II. BROWSER CACHE

Browser Cache – It’s a fancy word for storage – it keeps the internet running faster and also allows servers to run smoothly. In the old days of the “DIAL UP” Internet service of the (1990’s) and still today… programmers used the cache file as a special storage area that allowed you to visit a web page and download a file or an image. Internet as an image. So if you visit the same web page again, you won’t have to wait for long periods of time to download the same item (image).

Your computer copies the image through the browser’s cache. Essentially because you already have a copy. A problem occurs when the larger the cache files become, the slower the computer reacts; Ultimately, Internet usage is slower due to several, if not millions, of files being used.

3rd HARDWARE PROBLEMS

You might be experiencing a slow Internet connection because you are having problems with a cable or DSL server provider; a good idea might be to contact the service provider. But also practice due diligence by checking your modem every time. Then call the cable provider if that doesn’t work.

WHAT CAN YOU DO:

1. Check the processes running Task Manager
2. Clear your browser’s cache and cookies.
3. Restart your cable/DSL modem

1. Check the statistics of daily running programs in the “Task Manager” files of your computer. Just the other day I was developing some cool artwork in Photoshop. I decided to check my email and review my job idea. I opened my web browser to find that my browser was moving very slow. I found that Photoshop was basically using all my CPU usage in Photoshop, but as soon as I closed Photoshop, my computer started running faster.

2. Clear your browser cache and also clear your cookies: Your cookies are saved within the cache file every 30 to 90 days. These files are very temporary items that need to be deleted, and this process will make your browser work very fast. Cancel these items from the start menu options to “free up” resources for searching the Internet.

3. Restart your cable and DSL modem – The easy way to restart your modem is to unplug it from the outlet for five to fifteen minutes, to remove any static electricity…Then plug the cable back in, after the El process will run faster and call your service provider about any system problems you experience.

In short, the biggest area where most of us have problems, like slow internet access, involves the list I provided above. Please take the time to review watch one as these are persistent issues that we all face. If you can solve these problems on your own, maybe you can save a lot of time, money and frustration.
