What is the best destination for a Caribbean vacation?

Quick: when you think of Aruba, what comes to mind right away? Are they white beaches and calm blue waters? How about challenging golf courses and great water sports? Do you dive? Then Aruba could think of exploring reefs alongside goldfish. If you’ve never been to Aruba before, you’ll be happy to know that the island is famous for all of this, and more!

Sunshine – Aruba has almost constant sunshine 365 days a year. The island’s location keeps it arid most of the time with very little rain. Although there is a “rainy season” (late November to mid-January), most days are sunny and warm.

Refreshing breeze – Once again, Aruba’s location helps drive a refreshing breeze across the island most of the time. This breeze helps you stay comfortable in the warm Caribbean sun. It also serves to keep insects away while you go about your daily activities on vacation.

Great hotels – The Caribbean islands are sometimes better known for their vacation and timeshare rentals than for their hotels. While you can buy a timeshare in Aruba, there are some wonderful hotels that will appeal to singles, couples, families, as well as those on a budget and those who simply want the best accommodations and services. Chains like Marriott, Holiday Inn, Hilton and Radisson have excellent properties located in Palm Beach (known as the “skyscraper” hotel zone). There are other regional and local hotels in Eagle Beach that offer other types of accommodation to visitors. Visit the Aruba website at http://www.aruba.com for more details.

Fantastic restaurants – Something about being at the beach, playing water sports or a game of golf that can make you hungry. Aruba offers a wide variety of restaurants that appeal to almost all tastes and price ranges. There are the standard fast food restaurants that can be found in any city in the US or Europe. There are also chains like Ruth’s Chris, Texas from Brazil Brazilian Steakhouse and the Hard Rock Cafe. Finally, there are excellent local restaurants like Simply Fish at the Marriott Stellaris Hotel that offers dinners on the beach at sunset. Again, check out the Aruba tourism site mentioned above for information and locations.

Off-road exploration – After spending time lying on the beach basking in the rays of the sun, think about seeing the rest of Aruba. The island is only 22 miles long, making it easy to explore. Search your hotel for companies that rent Jeeps (there are many in Aruba) and set out to explore the island. You can visit from the California Lighthouse in the extreme northwest to the Seroe Colorado Lighthouse in the extreme southeast. A popular off-road destination is Arikok National Park, which takes up much of the island of Aruba.

So there you have it: Aruba is not just white sand beaches, warm blue water, and great sports activities. Aruba has many faces that must be explored to ensure that you have the best vacation experience on this wonderful Caribbean island.

Enjoy your trip!
