The places:

The former capital of Ghana now explains the history and culture of the Ashanti people. The popular Ashanti gold ornaments, Ashanti dance and culture are beautifully immersed in Kumasi life. To learn about Ghana’s fishing culture and the lives of its fishermen, visit the village of Nzulezo. The town is built next to a beautiful lagoon that offers stunning views. The one hour canoe ride to the village is beautiful.

The castles:

Cape Coast Castle, built in 1637, is now a renowned museum. He tells travelers about the history of Ghana dating back to before the 17th century. It also has a cultural importance for not only showing the local culture but also the ancient culture of the slave trade.

Located in the quaint fishing village of Elmina, the Castle of St. George is another archeological attraction enough to send travelers nostalgic. The castle was built in 1482 and was also the site of the slave trade. From now on, the light-colored castle houses a museum that tells of the Castle’s dark past. Water bodies:

The Kokrobite beaches are a major attraction outside of Accra. Besides the beach excitement they provide, the Academy of African Music and Art is a big draw here. The academy attracts students from all over the world. Places to hang out, bars and accommodation are available here.

Busua Beach is another great place for a tasteful beach vacation. At the beach, vacationers can row a boat, catch eastern lobsters, and relax. The beach has a number of hotels, many of which are high-end luxury hotels. All these hotels offer bars, restaurants, swimming pools and excellent restaurants.

Lake Volta, the largest man-made lake, adds to Ghana’s attractions. Passenger boats, known as Yapei Queen, run on the lake giving a 24-hour ride. Overnight and sleep on the ship may not be suitable for luxury travelers but it is a great attraction for adventure lovers.

National Parks:

Mole National Park is the largest national park in Ghana. It is home to many species of flora and fauna. The oldest mosque in Ghana, the Larabanga Mosque, is located nearby. Worth a visit.

Kakum National Park is a forest that has 40 species of larger mammals. Going through the Canopy Walkway, one notices an even more interesting way to see wildlife habitat and routines.
