Our Four Favorite Raw Fruit Juice Recipes

My take on juices is that you should have as many of the rainbow colors represented in your juice. It does this for a more balanced body, increases your vibration, and also helps all of your chakras rotate clockwise (which means they are healthy). With that said, here are our favorite five-star juice combinations so far.

Note: Volumes make up about 4 cups of raw juice. Then divide that into two-quart Mason jars and add 2 cups of ice cubes to each jar. Pour the entire mixture into your blender and set it on high heat to make 4 cups of diluted juice. This produces enough juice for 2 people for the morning juice. Ginger is great for increasing circulation and gives your juices a “zip.”

Juice # 1: Melon juice with a squeeze of ½ cup of Knudson’s lemon, ginger, and echinacea juice (one day we were trying to spend about 10 days in the fridge on our juice fast). A whole 8 to 10-inch melon makes about 4 cups of juice.

Juice # 2: Apple (4 cups), Pineapple (1/2), Mango (1), Plum (2), Banana (2)

Juice # 3: Peach (2), Plum (3), Ginger (2-inch chunk), Pineapple (1/2), Kiwi (1), Orange (2)

Juice # 4:Apple (3), Peach (1), Banana (2), Blueberries (1 cup), Mango (1), Plum (2) and Lemon (1)

Fruit juices are definitely more enjoyable than vegetable juices. We actually sampled a variety of fruits and vegetables during our 40-day juice fast.
General rules for making juices:

Drink fresh juice and do not store the juice for more than 24 hours. If you can’t drink it right away, put it in a glass jar (filled to the top) and cover to prevent oxidation. The juice quickly loses therapeutic and nutritional value during storage.

Raw fruits and vegetables are not always compatible when eaten together. Apples are the exception. You can also mix pears with jicama.

Melons should be squeezed on their own. Making all your food with cantaloupe is an option.

Avoid using bottled or sweetened juices. (as we did in the first recipe). All living enzymes are inactivated when pasteurized.

Minimize acidic juices. Juices do not stimulate the release of stomach acids, but orange and tomato juices are high in acid and you may want to mix these juices with less acidic ones.

About cucumbers. I’ve read that cucumbers may not be good to mix with other veggies as they are from the melon family, but it seems to work well for us. However, we limit the cucumber to less than 25% of the total volume.

Do not add more than 25% green juice to your vegetable juices (unless you have a bucket to puke on hand! Wow).

Green juices– you may want to do this between harder veggies, the juice collects on the bottom and doesn’t spill out easily if you squeeze them first. For example, I squeeze a couple of carrots, then a bunch of parsley, then I put a couple more carrots after the parsley to get the juicer moving again.

Dilute all the fruit juice with water. (one part juice to 2-4 parts water) and drink throughout the day. We found that 2 cups of fruit juice mixed with ½ ice cube tray makes 4 cups – the perfect dilution and it’s frothy and cold.

It is not necessary to dilute the vegetable juices.

What juice:

During the fast, select juices and teas specific to your health conditions. Most of the people I see in my office do well on the Eat Right for Your Type diet (www.dadamo.com). Because of this, I recommend juicing those fruits on highly beneficial and neutral food lists. Our fast was long, but you don’t need to fast that long. A 3-day juice fast will provide you with many benefits and will make your body healthier and more alkaline, which is what you really need to stay healthy.
