A pilot study of the effect of aromatherapy massage on mood, anxiety and relaxation in mental health in adults was conducted at Lavender Day Hospital in West Sussex, UK.

The study was carried out over a period of 8 months. Subjects’ mood, anxiety, and relaxation levels were recorded using a visual analog before and after each massage and then again 6 weeks after the last massage. A comparison was made between the HAD Scale results for each client and also the visual analog scale results for before and after the massage and also the first massage and 6 weeks after the massage for the sample group.

Improvements in HAD scale scores were shown for six of the eight subjects. Improvements were also shown in all areas when comparing visual analog scale results.

Ylang Ylang II
Vetiver (Hydro-diffused)

Aromatherapy is Nature’s Medicine in its purest and most essential form. Fragrance oils are the very soul of a plant. Even one or two drops can produce significant results for your body, mind, and spirit. Properly administered essential oils are a natural, safe and effective way to improve your health and well-being and can produce successful results where other methods have failed. Talk to your doctor about serious health problems and don’t try to self-diagnose.

PLEASE NOTE: There are many cheap synthetic copies of fragrance oils, but they are not recommended for therapeutic use. For best results, buy the highest quality oils you can find. Use organically grown or wild-grown essential oils that have been tested for purity and are pesticide-free.
