AOKE AK08 (Gold AK09) – Cheap Mobile Watches
If you’re the kind of person who doesn’t like to carry a lot of things in your pockets, especially a cell phone, then we have good news for you! Since the end of 2008, few mobile watches are available in the market, but at that time they were very heavy and expensive. The good news is that since the summer of 2009; you can buy the AOKE AK08 for less than USD 80 and its twin brother the AOKE AK09 costs a few dollars more. It is actually one of the cheapest wrist watch mobile phones available. The main difference between the 2 phones is that the AK09 integrates a photo camera and a video recorder.
For this price you get a 1.3″ touch screen watch (128*160 pixels) with a plastic case and strap. The design is very classic, it looks like an old bulky Casio watch from the eighties. But the interest of the watch is not It’s not in its design, but in what it offers: it’s actually a fully functional tri-band GSM, with Bluetooth, USB and GPRS/WAP connections, you can send SMS and MMS and you can even connect to the Internet with the standard WAP. you get the convenience of a 3.2″ touchscreen like on most phones, but it’s there if you need it.
Since it has Bluetooth, we recommend buying the optional Bluetooth headset for a few dollars more, so you’ll have your hands free when you talk on the phone.
What is also surprising with the AK08 or AK09 is that AOKE found enough space in the watch to add multimedia features. It has an MP3 music player, a photo viewer, a voice recorder, a video player and for the AK09, a photo and video camera (640*480 and 0.3 Mega Pixels). As file storage, the AK08 has 505K internal memory, expandable with a TF card up to 2GB. It integrates a micro USB plug so it can also be used as a U disk to store data. The USB cover is made of plastic and as we have seen it will not last long and in some watches it is also poorly adjusted.
In idle, the phone clock shows the time, if you touch the screen or press one of the command buttons, it will switch to phone mode. Each time you press a command, you will move to another feature on the phone. As the screen is very small, AOKE provides the phone with a small stylus pen. You can still dial a phone number with your finger, but using the stylus is required to write a message.
If you don’t focus on style but more on features and if you are on a tight budget, the AOKE AK08 and AK09 are for you. For the price, it would be hard to ask for more.
